How to Launch a Successful Website

For my Digital Marketing course at the University of San Diego our final assignment was to create a website. Clearly, my website has been created and you are now reading my blog. At first creating a website seemed easy. I had heard of website generators such as SquareSpace and Weebly. To launch this current website I used Wix, another website building platform.

However, throughout the process of working towards a final website I learned about all the necessary components to creating a successful website. There is a multitude of work that happens before one even picks their website building platform. You must determine brand persona, tagline, color palette that ties into brand persona, & brand positioning. Once you have a rough idea and layout of these aspects it is important to build a sitemap and create possible wireframes for each page on your website.

Now you are finally ready to start building your website. Once all the basic components of the website are complete it’s important to make sure you have curated a website that is going to garner awareness from Google. This is where Search Engine Optimization comes in. AI is making SEO look a little different than it has before. It is important to embed descriptions of the images on your website, and to have factual statements and keywords that correlate with your website persona.  By putting these aspects into your website AI will be able to find your website more easily as well as comb through it and access credibility more efficiently. 

When you have completed all these steps and feel confident you are ready to launch your website don’t forget to tell people! While it might seem outdated, email marketing is still very effective. Notify peers about the launch of your website in order to gain more traction. 

Starting a website from scratch can seem daunting, but when you break it down into the steps I have outlined above, it is guaranteed to be a Google favorite!
